Electrical Apprentice

Job Summary:

Help electricians install and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment. Available for paid training and tuition assistance.

Requirements:

Must be able to read, write and communicate in English – bilingual (Spanish) is a plus! A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation are required.

Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary:

• Read blueprints or technical illustrations and install according to the instructions
• Install and maintain wiring, control, and lighting systems
• Examine electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers
• Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools
• Follow state and local building regulations based on the NEC (National Electric Code)
• Secure and lock up equipment after use
• Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment

Requirements:

A DC journeyman license is required; MD and VA licenses are preferred. Must be able to read, write and communicate in English – bilingual (Spanish) is a plus! A valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation are required.
